UVM WID: WID Institute

Mini Institutes

Mini Institutes provide support for faculty interested in teaching and writing, focusing on a variety of topics. Participants in each Mini Institute learn practical teaching techniques and implement those techniques during working time. The groups meet three times during the semester at a mutually convenient time, with a possible follow-up the following semester, for breakfast or lunch. Apply for the Mini Institute and enjoy conversation about teaching with colleagues from across campus.

Fall WID & FWIL Mini Institute on
Teaching Multilingual Students: A Faculty Reading Group

Writing in the Disciplines and Foundational Writing & Information Literacy collaborate on this Mini Institute which aims to help faculty expand their perspectives on the experiences of multilingual students at UVM, and will also help faculty expand their pedagogical approaches. This group will meet over breakfast or lunch (meals provided) three times during the fall semester with a follow up in spring. Participants will read a small variety of accessible articles and have the opportunity to talk about teaching and writing with other faculty. Join us for a practical and productive set of discussions!
