In the UVM Web Publishing System, there are some different options for altering the look of your website home page. One option includes a marquee-style homepage banner that stretches along the full-width of your home page above your menu and content area. The second spans your entire content area across the full width of the page, sacrifice the left menu.
The home page banner option is featured prominently on the top-tier
of the UVM website, such as the admissions and academics areas, and is a feature that allows you to place custom content below the banner and above the content and menu areas of your homepage only. The content can consist of any HTML content but traditionally includes an image and possibly a small quantity of text. Check out our image library for a selection of images that are already sized for your homepage banner, and available for use.

homepagebanner.html.Another option for your home page, or your website, is to extend the content area over the full width of the page and not use a left, main menu. To use this option, you must select the alternate no menu
template file for the publishing select for your website. Please also note, that under this option several features will not be available to you, including the departmental logo, sub-menus, both departmental logos, table of contents, and text and custom banners.
To use the no banner template, you must add the following call to your zero line of your defaultmenu.html or your configuration file: template_file=nomenu_2008
