UVMWEBINFO Listserv

UVM faculty, staff and students who create and maintain departmental Web pages are invited to join the UVMWEBINFO listserv.

The listserv is sponsored by the UVM Web Team. We encourage departmental Webmasters to use the listserv to learn from each other and share ideas, concerns and suggestions. The listserv also enables the UVM Web Team to communicate with departmental Webmasters about the UVM Web template; official UVM Web pages; content, design, technology and support issues; and the future direction of the UVM Web site.

The UVMWEBINFO archives are available on the Web at:

http://list.uvm.edu/archives/uvmwebinfo.html.

To join the uvmwebinfo listserv, send e-mail to:

listserv@list.uvm.edu

and type the subscribe command as the first line of your message along with the list name and your first and last name. Some examples:

sub uvmwebinfo Henry Somebody
sub uvmwebinfo Joan A. R. Person
sub uvmwebinfo Tom Lee III

Once you are on, you may send a message to everyone on the list by sending e-mail to:

uvmwebinfo@list.uvm.edu

To leave the uvmwebinfo list, send e-mail to:

listserv@list.uvm.edu

and type the signoff command (unsub will also work) as the first line of your message with the list name. For example:

signoff uvmwebinfo

Depending on your needs, the UVM Web Team can answer your questions over e-mail, instant messaging, or phone or even make a house call to your location to help plan your Web site and jump-start your Web efforts or to convert your site to the UVM Web Template. The Web Team also holds drop-in office hours to provide a little hands-on support for template users.

Contact webteam@uvm.edu for details. Web Team members include Deb Goller, Tatjana Salcedo, Megan Thomas, and Megan Hack.

Help With Personal Web Pages

UVM students, staff, faculty and affiliates are provided with network accounts (most commonly used for e-mail) that allow them to host Web sites. In addition, independent entities affiliated with UVM may request departmental accounts for the purposes of posting Web sites. General information about publishing Web sites and using the UVM Web Template Publishing System is available in the UVM Web Guide. Another dated, but nonetheless helpful, UVM Web tutorial also is available online.
