Converting cow manure into electricity and other energy products on dairy farms:  Financial and economic analysis and policy implications

Closely linked to this project are state and national initiatives aimed at increasing the supply of renewable electricity supplied to the grid. In the Northeast, dairy manure has been identified as a suitable feedstock for use in anaerobic digester systems (ADS) that generate electricity because it is derived from plant-based sources (dairy cow feed), and is available in consistent, regular quantities for 24/7 generation.
