Leading with Insight: Using Myers-Briggs Type Indicator for productive work

©2008 Merryn Rutledge, Ed. D

Description

In today’s workplace, where so much work depends on teamwork, leaders must combine self-understanding with knowledge and skill in dealing with all kinds of people. None of us has time to waste on unproductive collaboration, conflicts with co-workers and external partners, or turnover that can be avoided. Based upon Carl Jung’s thinking, Isabel Myers and Katherine Briggs perfected the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to help us identify our own and other people’s ways of evaluating information, making decisions, using time and completing work. Because MBTI allows you to look at different ways of meeting objectives, the MBTI gives leaders like you a powerful tool for managing people with insight and adaptability.
