You know your game, but are you prepared to inspire your team to the next level of play? Coach your way to the next winning season!

We all recognize that good coaching is an integral part of a winning and productive team - in business this translates directly to improving the bottom line in a way that builds strong partnerships and a culture of support and opportunity. If you believe in the adage that "people are the real source of competitive advantage," then learning how and when to coach your people is one investment with long-term payback that you can't afford not to make! Organizations need to innovate or die. But many people don't understand that coaching and development is as critical to an organization's strategies and competitive edge as R&D. If you neglect either type of development, you and your organization risks mediocrity or even failure!

In this program, you will learn what coaches do (coaching skills), how to produce results through coaching (coaching patterns) and intentionally design patterns and environments that positively affect performance (life patterns), including:

  • Engaging in provocative conversations
  • Designing supportive environments and eliciting greatness from those you work with
  • Navigating coaching conversations through curiosity
  • Championing the people you work with and expanding their best efforts
  • Communicating cleanly with others and honing in on what is most important;
  • Establishing trust and intimacy with a peer, client or co-worker;
  • Developing a coaching presence;
  • Active listening and power questioning skills;
  • Direct communication skills;
  • Planning and goal setting;
  • Managing progress and accountability.

Who should attend:

  • Leaders looking to take on a more facilitative coaching style
  • Managers seeking to improve active listening and questioning skills
  • Human resource professionals who want to establish trust with those they counsel
  • Consultants interested in improving coaching ability with their clients
  • Recently promoted managers who want to hit the ground running
  • Anyone looking to gain an understanding of how coaching can create an environment in which people take ownership and create bottom line results

What will this Program do for me?

Build a stronger team, manage with confidence, become a magnet for talent and feel energized at work by:

  • Gaining an understanding of coaching theory and practical methodology that will help you create positive results in your organization
  • Taking away tools to improve your listening and questioning skills
  • Receiving immediate feedback from qualified instructor on your coaching style in a safe learning environment
  • Learning how to plan, set goals and manage your own progress as well as others
  • Leveraging coaching skills to build greater trust with your peers, co-workers, and team
  • Walking away with a plan to bring out the best in your employees and leverage the talent in your organization

What can you expect?

You will learn through:

  • Learning guides: reading and studying written material: pre and post class
  • Group dialogue and coaching demonstrations
  • Coaching critique: in the coaching circle
  • Being coached

Each participant will be encouraged to practice as they build their skills.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion from the University of Vermont and 2 CEU's.

"The ability to learn faster than your competitors may be the only sustainable competitive advantage!"
