The 2013 Invention 2 Venture (I2V) Conference held on April 4th at UVM’s Davis Center was presented in partnership by The Vermont Technology Council, UVM’s Office of Technology Commercialization, and The Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies. Generous sponsors and roundtable discussion leaders volunteered their time to lead three roundtable discussions among nine topics offered. A record turnout of 140 attendees excited to participate in the new roundtable discussion format showed up ready to get started. Previously, I2V hosted attendees as an audience listening to a series of panel discussions, with time for Q&A at the end. It was a more passive experience, too passive for a room full of creative, social creatures. The roundtable discussions are designed to be highly interactive with lots of movement before, during, and after the event at a mixer to continue unfinished conversations and begin new ones.
