Universal Design Technology Consultation

UDTL Staff meet one on one with students and faculty to provide an introduction to adaptive and assistive technologies, basic training on hardware and software available at the lab, and accessible electronic resource and media consultation.

The computers, software, and adaptive equipment in the lab provide:

  • access for blind users via speech output or braille;
  • magnification of the screen for people with low vision
  • use of speech recognition as a writing tool;
  • tool to make the reading and writing process easier;
  • the capability to create and produce documents in alternative formats such as e-text, braille, large print etc.

In addition to the technology described above, the lab staff can provide:

  • an introduction to access technology;
  • basic training and documentation on the hardware and software available in the lab;
  • accessible electronic resource and media consulting
