Renaming Advisory Committee
The Renaming Advisory Committee, established in March
2018, is charged with evaluating proposals to remove a name from a
building, academic unit or academic program, utilizing the principles
and criteria developed and adopted by Yale University on November
28, 2016, and unanimously endorsed by a University of Vermont work group
chaired by Professor John Hughes appointed for the purpose of evaluating
such principles and criteria.
The Advisory Committee developed a process
and form for submitting renaming requests.
The Advisory Committee will evaluate
appropriately-submitted renaming proposals and provide advice to the
Board of Trustees regarding any such proposals.
Vice President for University Relations &
Administration Thomas Gustafson will serve as Administrative Liaison to
the Advisory Committee.
