In May 2012, the Board disolved the Honorary Degree Work Group and endorsed the President's adoption of a University Operating Procedure Applicable to Honorary Degrees and Commencement Speaker. The Work Group was originally established in November 2006 (as part of the Board of Trustees' reorganization of its Committees) for the purpose of annually developing recommendations to the Board regarding candidates for Honorary Degrees. The process is now facilitated by a Presidential Advisory Committee. The Honorary Degree Nominations process timeline, criteria, and nomination form are available on the President's website.
