March 2014. Born in St. Johnsbury, VT. Educated at St. Johnsbury
Academy, 1964; BS Mathematics, UVM, 1968; MSA George Washington University,
1972; Attended Boston University School of Law 1973-1975. Currently CEO, Founder
and Managing Member of Bainco International Investors, SEC Registered Investment
Advisor and CEO of Newbury Street Capital, FINRA Broker Dealer. Previously:
Founder DLJ Boston Office and prior thereto Chairman’s Club Merrill Lynch.
Former professions include Real Estate Developer; National Security Agency;
served as Lieutenant 1969-1971, Headquarters, CONARC, United States Army. Former
member of the UVM Alumni Association – Trustee Representative. Winner
of Kidder Medal, 1968; Boulder Society; Judiciary Board at UVM; UVM Academic
Computer Center Teacher/Vermont Regional Network developer; Career Advisory
Network. Multiple Private Equity Board seats and chairmanships. Currently serves
as Trustee at St. Johnsbury Academy and Board of Overseers Beth Israel Deaconess
Medical Center. Community Service: United Way; Habitat for Humanity; Cradles
to Crayons. Board member of A Breath Away from the Cure Lung Cancer Foundation
and related ACLMI. Married to Janet Gordon Bain (UVM, 1969); 4 children, Jessica
Foley (UVM, 1995), Matthew Bain, Justin Bain and Alexander Bain.
