Break Parking Information (Employee)

During breaks in the routine schedule (particularly semester breaks and administrative holidays), there may be changes in parking options. This page contains "break parking" information for employees.

Important Reminders

  • Parking Rules & Regulations Remain In Effect: All vehicles must continue to display a valid parking permit during all break and reading & exam periods. Read carefully as enforcement will occur during these times. Normal parking regulations go into effect the first day classes resume following each break.
  • November 15 to April 1: No parking on the upper deck of the Gutterson Garage from 11:00pm to 7:00am. Violators may be towed at their own expense.
  • It's Still Snowing & There Are Scheduled Events: In anticipation of snow removal and special events, please watch for signs indicating dates and time of possible lot closures.
  • No Overnight Parking In the event you are away on University business and must leave your vehicle on campus, please contact our office. If space allows, we will direct you to the proper parking area under these circumstances.
  • Pay stations (individually numbered spaces) and meters will be enforced as posted.
  • Please call Police Services at 656-3473 for the Motorist Assistance Program after 4:00pm, Mon-Fri, weekends, during Administrative Holidays and Winter Break Days.

Employee Summer Parking Exceptions May 14 - August 17, 2018


Reminders:
  • Summer is UVM's opportunity to maintain Gutterson Garage and campus surface lots, arrange construction projects, and host many special events. Throughout the summer, please be alert for temporary signs and notices indicating dates and times areas are closed/reserved. Be prepared to park in alternative areas where your permit is valid.
  • Parking Rules and Regulations Remain in Effect: All vehicles must continue to display a valid parking permit. Read carefully as enforcement will occur during these times.
  • No overnight parking: In the event you are away on University business and wish to leave your vehicle on campus, please contact our office. If space allows, we will direct you to a proper parking area.
  • Pay Stations (hourly, individually numbered spaces) and meters will be enforced as posted.
  • Please call Police Services at 656-3473 for the Motorist Assistance Program after 4:00p, Monday through Thursday, and after 3:00p on Friday and during official University Holidays.

SPRING RECESS & READING/EXAM DAYS 2018

The following contains parking information for the periods during:

  • Spring Recess, March 12, 2018 through March 16, 2018
  • Reading & Exam Period, May 7, 2018 through May 11, 2018

Spring Recess Parking by Permit (see PDF Parking Map for lot designations)

  • Zone Green permit holders: Zone Green permits will also be honored in the Jeanne Mance Lot (Resident Purple on the north side of Pearl Street).
  • Zone White permit holders: Zone White permits will also be honored in the Jeanne Mance Lot (Resident Purple on the north side of Pearl Street) and the Allen House lot, on the south side of Main at Main and South Prospect Street. Parking in other faculty/staff lots is allowed after 3:30pm.
  • Zone Brown permit holders: Vehicles displaying these permits will no longer be allowed to park in the Allen House Lot during restricted hours during any break period. Zone Brown permits will be honored in the Jeanne Mance Lot (Resident Purple on the north side of Pearl Street) and Trinity North Lot on the Trinity Campus and any other lots posted for Residential Permits regardless of permit color. Parking in other faculty/staff lots is allowed after 3:30pm.

Reading & Exam Period.

  • May 7, 2018 through May 11, 2018: Campus parking rules and regulations will remain in effect during this time. Valid permits must be displayed and vehicles must park only in the zone which corresponds with their permit. Commuter Evening Permits will be valid during their normally restricted hours in student areas of the Gutterson Parking Facility during the reading and exam period.
