Welcome!!
Beginning November 23, 2009, first year students residing on campus may purchase a parking permit without filing for a First Year Waiver. This permit is for the remainder of the first semester only (expiring December 18, 2009). Transportation and Parking Services will assign parking, as space permits. The cost for this permit is $14/week; $55 for the entire four weeks. Method of payment is cash, check, or Cat$cratch only. Please come to our office to fill out a Student Permit Application. You may purchase this permit in advance (not to be effective before November 23, 2009) – you will need to know the vehicle make, year, style and color as well as the registered owner of the vehicle.
First year students fitting the guidelines who wish to park on campus during the second semester must apply for a First Year Waiver online using our website, unless they have already been approved to do so.

Important Information:
1) Method of payment: There is no longer the option of charging your student account for your parking permit. Method of payment for permits purchased, will be cash, check or CAT$cratch card. Please visit the CATCard website for depositing information. Any applications rejected for CAT$cratch insufficient funds will not be processed.
2) Registered Owner information: Beginning this year we will be recording registered owner information on each permitted vehicle and the relationship between the applicant and the registered owner. It will be the applicant's responsibility to accurately fill out all information. This change is in response to suggestions made by registered owners to keep them aware of parking fines and tow activity.
3) Handicap information: If you are parking on campus with a handicap placard or license plate registered to yourself, this will now be your parking permit. Simply fill out all pertinent information regarding the handicap placard/plate and motor vehicle. There is no fee associated with registering your handicap information.
Reminder -- Any falsehoods found on the application will cause the applicant to be referred to Police Services and/or the Center for Student Ethics and Standards.
Only staying for one semester? You can purchase a permit for one semester only.
First time first year students are typically not allowed to have a vehicle on campus. Under very special circumstances this restriction may be waived. Again, we encourage all students to experience their time at UVM without a car. You'll be amazed how easy it is. First Year Waiver.
Outstanding Parking Fines /
Fees? Don't put yourself in the position of not being able to
register for classes, making your parking permit invalid, etc. Pay
attention to our e-mails and your bills, call or e-mail us with any questions
you may have - before it is too late!
Thinking About Altering a Permit or using a Permit which is not assigned to you?
Here’s what happens:
- We catch you and fine you
- We contact Police Services and arrange to have your vehicle towed at
your expense. At the tow yard the parking permit is confiscated.
- We don’t hear your appeal. Police Services now is in charge of
what happens. They refer to the Center for Student Ethics and Standards.
- Your parking privileges may be suspended.
Alternative Means of Carbon-Less Transportation
We strongly encourage all of our students to try
Burlington without a car. The area is accessible by mass transit and many
locations are easy to walk and bike to. Bike maps are available at Local Motion.
We provide shuttle service throughout campus whenever the library is open and
more! Moving around campus is never more that a short walk to a bus stop.
