Permit Renewal (UVM netid required)

Your netid and password will be required to log into the application form.

You will notice the application has been pre-populated with little information.  This is an intentional action on our part.  During this past permit cycle we upgraded to a new parking database and particular pieces of information did not transfer well.  By asking you to update your information from scratch, we will be able to begin this first full year with our new database with information directly from you, not how the information got transferred over.  To assist you, we have added the information we have on file for your current permit at the bottom of your renewal notification letter.  Please do not be concerned if it is not correct – please list the vehicles you are taking responsibility for (with any additional vehicles not listed) under your permit on the application.

Any questions pertaining to your UVM netid please visit uvm.edu/account/.

Permit Application Form for Printing & Mailing

Permit Renewal Information:

If you are being payroll deducted and do not wish to renew your parking permit, we appreciate an e-mail at parking@uvm.edu.  This will allow us to promptly stop your payroll deduction at the end of the permit cycle without waiting to see if you renew.

Permit/Sticker Distribution:  Permits and expiration stickers will only be sent to campus addresses so please keep that in mind as you fill out the application form.  Retirees are welcome to fill in their home address on the application form.

*Payroll Deductible Employees:
    o   Please apply on-line
o   Distribution after May 11, 2009; of permits or new expiration date sticker
*Affiliate Employees/Vendors
    o   Cash/Check only
o   Distribution after May 15, 2009; of permits or new expiration date sticker

Permits:  This year we will be issuing renewal stickers instead of new parking permits for most employees.  If the prefix of your parking permit begins with EG, EW, EO, EB, AG, AW, AO, AB, RG, EC you should hold on to you permit as you will be receiving a sticker to put on your permit.  If your permit is not available at the time of renewal, you should indicate so on your application form in the “Comment” section so we can issue you a new permit.

Affiliated Employees (Ineligible for payroll deductions):  Please feel free to print and fill out the permit application. Method of payment is cash, check or Cat$cratch – sorry, no credit or debit cards.  Renewal stickers will be provided for those of you who currently have the plastic hangtags with the expiration date 05/31/09.

Carpools:
Application forms need to be submitted for each person wishing to be part of the carpool.  If your carpool is staying intact (i.e., same persons as the 2008-2009 carpool), please indicate this in the “Comment” section, along with the cross-referencing information for persons in your carpool.  If your carpool is intact, we will send you a sticker to place on your parking permit.

Occasional Use:
All occasional use permits expire May 31, 2009.  If you have paid for additional permits and do not use them by that date, please contact Mary Provost for further instruction (Mary.Provost@uvm.edu).  If you wish to participate in this program for 2009-2010, please choose the zone color you are eligible for and indicate in the “Comment” section you are applying for Occasional Use permits.

Handicap Placards / Plates:  Please update your information using the Faculty & Staff Permit renewal form, regardless of whether or not you have provided us with the information in the past.  This will give us the opportunity to ensure the transferred information to our new database is correct.  Remember, your handicap placard or plate allows you to park on campus free of charge in any space except for spaces specifically reserved for another individual.  You may also park at any meter without paying.

Zone Orange:  Current Zone Orange permit holders who reapply will be issued Zone Orange permits upon their request.  Any persons displaced by any future construction needs will be asked to relocate to Zone Brown (Gutterson Lot), per date of hire.

Zone Brown:  The loss of parking spaces in the Jeffords Lot continues to be a challenge for those of you working on the north side of Main Street.  As space becomes available during different phases of the construction, we will be contacting eligible persons via their UVM e-mail account to see if they wish to exchange their permits.  We will continue to do this according to date of hire, as provided by Human Resources.  Those of you who received plastic Zone Brown permits last year should hold on to the permits if you are renewing as we will be issuing you a sticker.  Those of you who received a cardboard temporary Zone Brown permit may discard your permit after May 31, 2009 – you will receive a new plastic permit.

If you still have any questions, please direct them to parking@uvm.edu.
