Parking Notices

  • Extended Hours:
    • Sunday, March 9th, Noon - 4pm
  • First Years–End of Semester Parking Opportunity:
    To assist in "Move-Out", residential first year students (who have not had their parking privilege revoked) may purchase a parking permit anytime during the last three weeks of the Fall Semester without being approved through the First Year Waiver process. Duration of this period is November 22 to December 13. Parking will be designated by Transportation and Parking Services. The cost is $14/week and may be purchased in advance at our office.
  • Reading Day/Exam Period & Thanksgiving & Semester Break Parking Information 2013:
  • Full Year and One Semester Student Permits Now Available for Online Purchase:
    Visitor the Student parking permit page and choose the permit color which applies to you.

    Resident permits ordered through Tuesday, August 20th, can be picked up at your residential main desk on move-in day, Sunday, August 25th. Resident permits ordered beginning Wednesday, August 21st and all Commuter permits must be picked up using your UVM ID. Check the TPS Home Page for extended hours and locations.
  • First Year Move-In Day Parking, Friday, August 23, 2013:
    • Trinity Campus: If you normally park in the Mercy or Hunt Lots on the Trinity Campus, please park your vehicle in the Delehanty or Trinity North Lots to make for much needed room for the incoming students who are moving in to their residential halls on this day.
    • Redstone Campus: For those who normally park on Redstone Campus in the Robinson, Christie, Wright & Patterson Lots, please park in the Wing Lot.
    • East Campus: If you park in Living/Learning, Harris Millis & MAT Lots please park in the Gutterson Garage.

    Parking your vehicle in these areas will help relieve traffic congestion, making for a safe and better move-in experience for our first year class. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Questions or concerns may be directed to parking@uvm.edu.
  • Partial Lot Closure – 70 South Williams Street:
    Due to tree removal and trimming, a large section of the 70 South Williams Street Lot east of the Philosophy Building will be unavailable on Thursday, August 15, 2013. A limited number of spaces will be available on the west and north sides of the lot. There is parking available in the Allen House Lot. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

  • (Updated 8/6) Fall Student Permits Available Soon:

    Permits for the Fall are expected to be available soon. Their availability will be reflected anew in an updated version of this message.

    Remember, if you are a first year student residing on campus, your application will be reviewed through a First Year Waiver. Resources for transfer students are also available online.
  • Wheeler Lot Temporary Closure:
    Due to lot renovations, the east side and north end of the Wheeler House Lot will be unavailable for parking beginning Thursday, July 25, 2013 until further notice. Parking will remain available in the western portion of the lot behind Wheeler House. There is also parking available in the Allen House Lot. Non-emergency access and egress to the Wheeler Lot will be through the south west corner of the College Street Visitor's Lot. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as the lot is renovated.

  • Marsh/Austin/Tupper (MAT) Lot Temporary Closure 6/30-7/5:
    Due to construction/renovations, please note the Marsh/Austin/Tupper (MAT) Lot on the Athletic Campus will be unavailable for parking beginning Sunday, June 30, 2013 through Friday, July 5, 2013. Alternative parking is available in the Harris/Millis Lot or enclosed sections of the Gutterson parking garage. Vehicles parked in the lot during these times may be removed by towing. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Employee Permits Expire Soon!
    Check your employee permit! Chances are it is expiring May 31st, 2013. If that is the case, you must reapply for a parking permit if you wish to park on campus beyond June 1st, 2013:
  • (Updated) First Year Students – Early Permit Sales for Move-Out:
    To assist in Move-Out for eligible first year students, parking permits for any part of the move-out period may be purchased during the last three weeks of the Fall and Spring Semesters without being approved through the First Year Waiver process (beginning April 22, 2013 for Spring Semester). If you purchase early, your parking permit will be effective the prior weekend (April 20 and 21) for free. Parking will be designated by Transportation and Parking Services. These move-out permit sales begin Wednesday, April 17, 2013 either at our office or on-line, and may be picked up during business hours with UVM ID.
  • Reminder – No Overnight Parking on Gutterson Deck (in effect November 15 to April 1):
    In order to keep the snow cleared away, we remind you there is no parking on the upper deck of the Gutterson Garage from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. Vehicles may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense. We thank you for your cooperation as we make it towards the end of the winter season.
  • Commuter Black Parking Options:
    Beaumont Lot (Commuter Black) lot full? Remember, your Commuter Black parking permit is always honored in the Trinity North Lot on Trinity Campus (north of Delehanty Hall). This lot provides parking within an easy walk to the employee entrance of Fletcher Allen Health Care. As a second overflow option for this busy time of the year, your Commuter Black permit will be honored in the JEFFORDS LOT parking area (east of Jeffords Hall) until May 20, 2013. Your Commuter Black parking permit will not be honored in the Given Lot (under the watertower) during restricted times. Please see the PDF Campus Map for parking lot designations.
  • Davis Roadway-Temporary Road Closure:
    Due to construction, the South Prospect Street entrance to the Davis Roadway will be inaccessible to vehicular traffic on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, from 8:00am-12:00pm. Vehicles must use the University Heights entrance via Main Street for access to Redstone Campus. Dates and times are contingent upon the weather. Please refer to this website for further updates.
  • University Heights Temporary Road Closure:
    In order to maintain the status of a private road, the University is required to close the University Heights Road to vehicular traffic for seventy two hours each calendar year.

    The University Heights Road will be closed with directional signs in place in the following areas beginning Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 7:00 am through Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 7:00 am.:

    • All three sections of the road that intersect Patrick Circle
    • Redstone In-bound
    • Harris Millis West exit to Patrick Road
    • Patrick and Davis Road.

    During this closure signage will remain in place indicating temporary traffic patterns. Questions or concerns may be directed to parking@uvm.edu.
  • Winter Holiday 2012-2013 Semester Break Parking Information:
  • Davis Roadway-Temporary Road Closure:
    Due to construction and paving, the South Prospect Street entrance to the Davis Roadway will be inaccessible to vehicular traffic on Friday, December 7th, from 7:00am-12:00pm. Vehicles must use the University Heights entrance via Main Street for access to Redstone Campus. Dates and times are contingent upon the weather. Please refer to this website for further updates.

  • Slade Parking Lot/Redstone Campus – Temporary Parking Notice:
    Due to construction, the Slade Parking Lot will be unavailable for parking beginning at 7:00am, Friday, November 9th through 7:00am Sunday, November 11, 2012. Alternative parking for valid Resident Red permits is available in the Davis and Wing Lots or any other lots posted for Resident Red Permits. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • College Street Lot – Temporary Parking Notice:
    Due to the need for special event parking, please note the Employee Green section of the College Street Parking Lot will be unavailable for parking on Wednesday & Thursday, November 7th and 8th, 2012. The remainder of the lot will remain available for Pay & Display parking during these times.

  • NEW–Additional Jeffords Lot Pay-By-Space Parking: The Jeffords Lot Pay-By-Space area has been extended by twenty additional parking spaces. These spaces are located east of the existing Pay-By-Space area on the south side of the lot closest to Main Street and are numbered and demarcated with white lines. Payment is required Monday through Friday from 7:00 am-3:30 pm at $1 per hour; payment is in one hour increments. Students are allowed to park in these spaces after 3:30 pm Monday through Friday and weekends and may not park at any other time regardless of payment.

  • Trinity Lot Reopened (Updated): The Trinity North Lot located behind Delehanty Hall on the Trinity Campus (which serves the TPS office) has been reopened following repaving.
  • Weekend Parking for Visitors: View the Residential Life Poster (PDF)
    • Parking permits are required at all times (this includes Saturdays & Sundays) in all Residential parking lots. This is indicated with signs located at all residential lot entrances. This is for the protection of students living on campus who are permitted to park in their assigned residential zone.
    • All residential parking lots will be enforced during the weekends using a system of warnings, citations and/or removal of vehicles by towing.
