Theatre Major Course Requirements

The following are the requirements for the THEATRE MAJOR beginning in the Academic Year 2013/2014.

A total of 42 hours in Theatre must include:

  • 30 hours of general Theatre courses:
    • THE 010, 020, 030, 040, 150, 252, 284 and 3 credits of THE 190
  • 12 additional hours of Theatre required:
    • Four (4) courses, two of which much be a 100-level or above.
  • Note: Advisors can provide students with a list of courses that would satisfy emphasis in these catagories
    • Performance
    • Tech/Design
    • Generalist
    • History/Criticism

THE 020: Fundamentals of Lighting includes Lab 4 credits
THE 030: Fundamentals of Scenery includes Lab 4 credits
THE 040: Fundamentals of Costuming includes Lab 4 credits
THE 050: Dramatic Analysis 3 credits
THE 150: Theatre History I 3 credits
THE 190: Theatre Practicum .5-3 credits
