Synopsis:
In a backyard of a Brooklyn tenement on the last day of summer vacation a group of children (portrayed by adults) are at play. Finding a dying bird they decide to have a ritual burial only to then find a bag of money left by a recently deceased miser who had lived in an adjacent building. The results are squabbling and bitterness among the children as their innocent childhood games yield to an awareness of greed, betrayal and violence so much a part of the grownup world they are fast and regrettably approaching.
