Synopsis:
In 1956, at the height of his fame, Arthur Miller defied the House on Un-American Activities Committee by refusing to testify against friends and colleagues believed to have Communist ties. He personally was found guilty of Communism, but was cleared on appeal in 1957. The Crucibleis, at its core, a loosely-veiled condemnation of McCarthyism. It is a chilling examination of fear and deception blending fact and fiction into a compelling historical drama.
