UVM Students Make Green Pledges During Earth Week

Last week, UVM's Eco-Reps organized a tabling event in the Davis Center to kick start the Follow the Leaf campaign. Influenced by the Rainforest Alliances' Follow the Frog campaign, the Eco-Reps worked with two students, Matt Lipke (director) and Sam Lucci (actor), to produce a short video to promote the Eco-Options label.

Dye-Vest-In Teach-In

The group Vermont Student Climate Culture will be providing vests and dye for student to come by and tie-dye their vests and wear them around campus in support of the divest from fossil fuels movement on campus. We will also be joined by state legislator Chris Pearson where he will facilitate a discussion around the idea of divestment.

Contradance and Localvore Snacks

April 24, 2013 - 6:45pm - 8:45pm

The Campus Kitchens Project in partnership with Student Life present a contra dance featuring localvore snacks and desserts!

Admission is FREE to students (with UVM ID) and $10 to community members.

Music will be provided by Atlantic Crossing.

All are welcome! All dances taught, no partner or experience necessary
Beginners’ session at 6:45 pm.

***Please bring clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing.**

The New Economy Series: Rumble in Econ Jungle

On Wednesday, April 24th from 4-6 pm, the Financing the New Economy track will kick off with a debate between neoclassical and ecological economic schools of thought. The neoclassical team, Professors Arthur Woolf and Bill Gibson, will debate the ecological team, Professors Gary Flomenhoft and Josh Farley. The resolution:

“Economic growth is good for people and the environment”.

Film Screening: No Impact Man
