Aiken's Green Roof

The Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources installed its new green roof -- or more accurately, roofs -- this past week atop their home in the George D. Aiken Center. Aiken Solar Trackers

In 2010, the CEF funded the installation of seventeen 4 kilowatt Solar Photovoltaic Tracker Panels, which will count towards LEED accreditation for the greening of UVM's Aiken building, home of the Rubenstein School of Environment & Natural Resources. The trackers, installed in December, 2010, are operated by AllEarth Renewables under a power purchase agreement and will be purchased outright by UVM in five years.
