Coordinator of Sustainable Funds

Oversee and integrate the mechanisms for sustainability investments at the university. Conduct research and develop supporting materials for the Socially Responsible Investing Advisory Council and the Clean Energy Fund. With the controller, conduct research for the Vice President for Finance and as requested the Investment Subcommittee of the Board of Trustees on socially responsible investing in the endowment per the SRIAC charter. Oversee the proposal, fund distribution process and administrative oversight for the Clean Energy Fund at the university. Act as Liaison between the students, faculty and staff as to the programmatic initiatives of funding for the Clean Energy Fund. Assist and support the Socially Responsible Investment Advisory Council in carrying out its charge.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, economics, sustainable business or a related field and three to five years’ experience in nonprofit or higher education administration. Effective writing, verbal communication and presentation skills and the demonstrated ability to manage and effectively communicate about complex projects to multiple audiences. Familiarity with endowments or sustainability funds is required.

Supervise and coordinate Eco-Reps Program: plan, coordinate and oversee program activities including recruitment and supervision of students who serve as peer-educators in university residence hall communities. Assist with strategic planning and prioritization of projects. Develop, oversee and coordinate performance tracking processes to maintain UVM’s national ranking in the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) and other ranking systems. Maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders and partners regarding STARS, best practices, and innovations for sustainability in higher education

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, communications, business, public relations, or other applicable field with two to four years’ direct experience in community engagement campaigns and/or campus sustainability required. Supervisory experience required. Effective communications skills (writing, conflict management, presentation, inter-personal), including the ability to produce clear written documentation for technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in social media management, public relations, design and print production, and website development. Ability to initiate and implement projects with teams and work independently with little direct oversight. Familiarity with different software and web services/platforms. Ability to travel to off-campus locations is required.

Desirable qualifications:

Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and Google Apps. Experience coordinating a peer educator program at an institution of higher education. Experience managing an organization’s sustainability data collection and reporting process. Coursework or other training in community-based social marketing, environmental science or systems dynamics. Project management experience and program evaluation experience.
