CHA Selected to Conduct a Comprehensive Renewable Energy Feasibility Study for CEF
On February 24, 2012, a Request for Proposal released for a Comprehensive Campus Renewable Energy Feasibility Study. This project was proposed in Fall 2010 and awarded funding from UVM's Clean Energy Fund in spring 2011. Representatives from fifteen firms attended the mandatory site visit in early March and nine proposals were turned in by the RFP deadline. Three firms were selected to present before a selection committee in late March: Sebesta Blomberg, Weston & Sampson, and Clough, Harbour & Associates (CHA).
On May 4th, the contract was awarded to CHA. Work on this project will be underway immediately, starting in June. UVM students were selected for summer internships, where they will work with CHA consultants to collect data and gain knowledge on renewable energy technology. Interns will also be doing outreach efforts and during the summer, they will release blog posts and videos of their experience on the Office of Sustainability website.
