UVM's Clean Energy Fund celebrated the New Year with by "energizing" 17 newly-installed solar trackers from Vermont-based AllEarth Renewables and connecting them to the grid. The installation, the first appvoed by the Clean Energy Fund committee to be completed, will generate an estimated 95,880 kilowatt-hours per year and count towards LEED accreditation for the greening of UVM's Aiken building, home of the Rubenstein School of Environment & Natural Resources. The trackers, installed over the month of December and connected to the grid as of December 29, 2010, are operated by AllEarth Renewables under a power purchase agreement and will be purchased outright by UVM in five years.
