Grounds
The University of Vermont's Grounds Services have made an effort to reduce the environmental impact of its landscaping and snow-removal work, while maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing and safe campus.
These efforts include: reducing the amount of sand and salt used to remove snow in the wintertime; having an Integrated Pest Management plan; maintaining natural areas; composting yard waste from landscaping work; and trying to integrate native and arid plants on campus.
