Student Goverment Association
The Senate:

All students are apart of the Student Government Association, the
voice and influences of our students stands as guiding principles for
the SGA Senate which is the Legislative branch of the Student
Government.
The Senate is composed of forty (40) members, who shall be elected
from two categories: members living in University residence halls; and
members living in off-campus housing, including Greek houses, married
student housing, and Fort Ethan Allen.
Only those students living off-campus and students living on-campus,
who are planning to move off-campus, are eligible to run for one of
the twenty (20) off-campus Senatorial seats.
Only those students planning to live on campus the year following the
election are eligible to run for the fifteen (15) on-campus Senatorial
seats.
Any member of the SGA running for a Senatorial position must have at
least one fall or spring semester left at UVM.
Five (5) on-campus seats will be filled by an election open only to
First-Year students. The election shall be held within the first two
weeks of the fall semester, and shall be carried out under the
direction of the Secretary of Elections.
