SSS Eligibility

What are the eligibility requirements to be a part of SSS?

SSS is designed to serve undergraduate college students who meet specific program requirements. To be eligible for admission to UVM’s SSS program, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Income: Each year, the U.S. Department of Education publishes guidelines, which define low income based on family size. Click here for income guidelines

First Generation College Student: First generation college students are those whose parents or legal guardians have not completed a Bachelor’s degree at the time of your application (neither father, mother, nor legal guardian(s) has graduated from a four-year institution).

Disability: Disability refers to students with a physical or mental or learning difference which limits a major life activity. Such disabilities must be documented with UVM’s ACCESS office. 

In addition, you must be:

A U.S. Citizen and/or legal/permanent resident

Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program for at least 12 credits for your first BA/BS.
