Sponsored Project Administration - SPA
Proposal Approval & Submission to Sponsor
InfoEd Electronic Proposal Routing System and Review Dashboard
UVM uses the InfoEd Electronic Proposal Routing System to route proposals to Chairs and Deans for internal approvals. The Principal Investigator is responsible for uploading the proposal into InfoEd and for starting the electronic routing process. The Principal Investigator is also responsible for monitoring the routing progress to ensure it is completed in tme to meet SPA's internal submission deadlines.
Dean, Director and Department Chair review and approval
Approval is needed from the Deans, Directors and Department Chairs of any department with personnel listed on the budget or with stated cost sharing or other resource commitments. To that end, proposals are routed to each responsible Dean, Director and Department Chair for review and approval of the following components, consistent with UVM's Roles and Responsibilities in Sponsored Projects. Deans, Directors and Department Chairs perform thier review and approval in the InfoEd Review Dashboard.
- faculty effort commitments
- budget and budget justification
- cost sharing commitments
- research plan
- facilities and resources
- other proposal components
SPA Review and Approval - UVM Authorized Signature
After
all required Deans, Directors and Department Chairs have approved the
proposal, SPA performs their review of the final version of the
proposal. SPA then provides the UVM Authorized Signature and the the
Principal Investigator is then permitted to submit the signed proposal
to the sponsor.
Submission to Sponsor
Proposal submission to the sponsor is the responsibility of the Principal Investigator. Exceptions to this long standing policy are for those proposals for which the sponsor requires SPA to electronically submit the proposal via the sponsor's proposal submission mechanism.
