Help send wheelchairs to Puerto Cabezas, our sister city in Nicaragua

The Burlington/ Puerto Cabezas Sister City program for the past two years has worked with "Free Wheelchair Mission", an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing "low cost wheelchairs for the impoverished and  disabled in developing nations around the world".         <http://www.freewheelchairmission.org>.
Wheelchairs have been donated and this April 2012 will arrive in Nicaragua. But we must raise $900 for overland transport of 100 of the chairs from Managua to Nicaragua’s remote Atlantic Coast. (That's only $9 a chair for making someone mobile).
As last year, the chairs will be delivered to ODISRAAN, the organization of disabled people on Nicaragua's Atlantic Coast. ODISRAAN is headed by Martha Downs, Bilwi's assistant mayor, who herself uses a wheel chair and whose top priority is helping people who are unable to walk
.
Help us reach our goal by making a donation to the Burlington/ Puerto Cabezas Sister City Program, earmarked wheelchairs.
