Vikki joined Risk Management & Safety in June 2012. She is currently finishing a Masters Degree in Chemistry from UVM. Vikki is the Laboratory Safety Coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences, overseeing Marsh Life Sciences, Angell Lecture Center, Cook Physical Sciences, Delehanty, Dewey Hall, Torrey, Wheeler House, Royall Tyler Theater, Williams Hall, and Living/Learning studios. |
Francis Churchill,

Francis has worked for Risk Management & Safety in many different roles. In 2011, he was promoted to the Senior Associate Director for Health & Safety at UVM. He now oversees all aspects of Environmental, Health & Safety at UVM. Francis participates in hazmat emergency planning at both UVM and at the County level. He served as the chair of the Chittenden County Local Emergency Planning Committee for 8 years. |
Lee Diamond,

Lee worked at UVM for 9 years managing laboratory chemical wastes. Currently, Lee is the Laboratory Safety Coordinator who liasons on safety issues with the College of Engineering and Mathematical Science (CEMS), including Votey and Perkins, as well as with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). This includes working with Entomology labs in the UVM BioResearch Area, labs in the department of Nutrition and Food Sciences as well as Jeffords Hall, Terrill, and the UVM farms (Miller, HRC and PMRC). |

Dr. Sonia Godoy Tundidor received her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Innsbruck in 2004. She then worked in the United States as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of prostate cancer. She has also worked as an editor of scientific publications. Sonia joined Risk Management & Safety in 2011 as the Assistant Biosafety Coordinator. She oversees the Biohazardous Waste Program and the Biosafety Cabinet Certification Program, and assists with research protocol reviews. Sonia is also the Laboratory Safety Coordinator with Elayna for the College of Medicine, specifically Colchester Research Facility, Ungulate Facility, and Animal Care Facilities. |
Brian Hodge,

Brian joined UVM with 10 years of experience working at the Chittenden Solid Waste District's Environmental Depot. There he worked with households and small businesses to manage their hazardous waste. At UVM, Brian works as a team managing and tracking campus generated hazardous waste and delivering ChemSource orders to campus laboratories. |
Jeff LaBossiere,

Jeff began working for Risk Management & Safety in February 2006 after 12 years of experience in the biotech industry in Cambridge, Mass. He manages the Assistant BioSafety Coordinator. Together, they continue to develop and improve UVM's biosafety program in cooperation with the Office of Sponsored Programs and the Office of Animal Care Management. Jeff works directly with researchers and laboratories with protocols that must be reviewed by UVM's Institutional BioSafety Committee (IBC). Jeff is a member of the American Biological Safety Association. |
Shari Langlois, Occupational Safety & Health Program Specialist

Shari has worked at UVM since November, 2006. She has been in the field of Occupational Safety & Health for 20 years specializing in program development and implementation at both the departmental and organizational levels. Shari has a holistic approach to her campus-wide role that addresses OSHA requirements and focuses on injury prevention. Shari oversees the laboratories and work spaces in the Rubenstein School of Environmental and Natural Resources, specifically Aiken Center, Jericho Research Forest, Rubenstein Lab, as well as the College of Nursing and Health Sciences including Rowell Hall. |

John came to UVM in 2005 after serving 21 years with the Burlington Fire Department. He has a degree in Fire Science Technology, is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist and a Charter Member of the Center for Campus Fire Safety. John is responsible for a wide range of fire and life safety issues including code compliance, incident management, and fire safety education and training. |
Brian Medor,

Brian has worked in the hazardous waste industry for more than a decade. He manages all laboratory and campus hazardous and Universal wastes. Brian is responsible for making sure the collection and disposal of UVM's hazardous waste is in compliance with a variety of government regulations. Brian works closely with commercial vendors and end disposal sites. |
Elayna Mellas,

Elayna came to UVM in May 2012 after working for VT Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) as a hazardous waste inspector. She has 9 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, having previously worked at a small university and a research hospital. Elayna is the Laboratory Safety Coordinator for the College of Medicine along with Sonia Godoy Tundidor. This includes the Given Medical Building, Health Science Research Facility and the Ungulate Facility in UVM's BioResearch Area. |
Jeff Rogers,

Jeff joined the Risk Management & Safety staff in 2008 with 5 years experience in occupational health and safety within UVM's Physical Plant Department. Jeff previously worked as the Laboratory Safety Coordinator. In 2012, he became the Environmental Compliance Program Manager. Jeff oversees general University compliance with environmental regulations, particularly hazardous waste and air pollution permit (available here in PDF format) compliance. |
