In-Store 4-H Fundraiser Begins Oct. 3 at TSC Stores
- By Sarah Kleinman
Burlington--Tractor Supply Company (TSC) stores throughout Vermont are gearing up for the Fall 4-H Paper Clover Campaign, Oct. 3-14.
Shoppers are encouraged to show their support for University of Vermont (UVM) Extension 4-H by purchasing paper clovers for $1 or more at checkout. The proceeds from the sales at each store will be used to fund 4-H leadership programs in that store's county.
Donations also may be made at checkout when purchasing items online at www.tractorsupply.com. These will be distributed based on the buyer's shipping location.
The semi-annual campaign is a partnership between the National 4-H Council and more than 1,700 TSC and Del's Feed and Farm Supply stores in 49 states. Vermont stores can be found at the following locations:
--Bennington, 300 Depot St.
--Montpelier, 352 River St.
--Morrisville, 88 Center Rd.
--Newport, 124 Commerce Way
--North Clarendon, 1177 U.S. Rte. 7
--St. Albans, 2636 Highgate Rd.
--Shelburne, 3708 Shelburne Rd.
Many local 4-H clubs participate in these campaigns, setting up displays and chatting with customers about their 4-H projects, events and volunteer opportunities. Any club that takes part in the fall campaign may enter the Paper Clover Participation Sweepstakes for a chance to win one of 75 $100 TSC gift cards to use for club activities and supplies. Gift cards will be sent to the store manager to be awarded to winning clubs.
The Spring 4-H Paper Clover Campaign raised $3,033 for 4-H in Vermont. Ninety percent of that total stayed in the state while 10 percent went to National 4-H to support its programming.
