CDCI Announces New Summer Course: Assistive Technology Across the Lifespan

Course to run June 20-July 15 Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-7pm

CDCI is proud to announce a 1-credit summer course about Assistive Technology (AT). Participants of this course will gain a knowledge of AT laws, practice settings, state and federal agencies that support AT, and low to high tech solutions for individuals of all ages. We will focus on technology for reading/writing, vision/hearing, alternative augmentative communication, switch access, cognitive supports, and electronic activities of daily living. The course will consist of lecture, guest lectures, lab, and individual and group projects. 

This course will be co-taught by Karen Fiekers, Occupational Therapist and AT Integration Specialist at the Burlington School District and Dawn Hameline, Occupational Therapist and AT Professional at the University of Vermont Medical Center. This course will take place on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5-7 starting June 20 and ending July 15.
