Expert in the Field of Stuttering to Speak at UVM Sept. 20

The Burack President's Distinguished Lecture Series will host Edward Conture, professor and director of graduate studies at Vanderbilt University, Thursday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. in North Lounge, Billings.

Conture, former Margaret O. Slocum Professor of Education at Syracuse University, will speak on "Children Who Stutter: Understanding and Helping Them."

An internationally renowned expert in the field of stuttering, Conture has been conducting research and treatment in the field for more than 40 years. His talk will be focused on how his research reveals important aspects of childhood stuttering and how the findings can be applied to treatment.

The lecture is free and open to the public, and a reception will immediately follow in Billings APSE.
