Student Internship Opportunities with the USGS New England Water Science Center

The USGS New England Water Science Center has two student trainee positions available. These positions will be in association with the USGS Pathways Internship Program and in support of the NH-VT Office stream gaging program. The duty station will be Pembroke, NH. Candidates for this program will be required to apply on-line using the USA Jobs website and must be a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled in a degree or certificate program on a full- or half-time basis as defined by the school (certificate program means post-secondary education). Student trainees with the New England Water Science Center will serve in a trainee capacity, performing routine and recurring assignments to acquire knowledge and understanding of functions, principles, practices, and methods used in the area of hydrology.  Candidates should have a strong background in physics and mathematics. During the school year part-time hours will apply; however, during school breaks and the summer period, full-time hours may apply.
