Exercises in Estimating and Monitoring Abundance

The exercises presented here are designed as a teaching tool to explore various methods in estimating and monitoring abundance of wild species, with an emphasis on animal species.

Each exercises consists of a spreadsheet exercise, followed by an analysis in programs MARK, PRESENCE, or DISTANCE. In the near future, we will be adding coding in program R to each exercise. Click here for an overview of organization of the e-book, and note that Exercises 1 and 2 are required work.
