Blueberry experiment goes to ground

100 plants now established at the lab

All-out effort planting blueberries

This week Leif’s blueberry experiment went from pots to a long term array in the ground at UVM’s Spear Street lab. The experiment examines the interactions between blueberries and their aboveground and belowground mutualists. Results after two years are cool enough that we decided to plant them out for longer term study. So now we get to keep watching them, as well as start other studies on our own little blueberry patch.

Charlie, Leif, and a crew of labmates got to use some heavy machinery, in addition to lots of hand labor. Thanks everyone!
