The Northeastern States Research Cooperative conducted a Northern Forest Scholars Program in 2006 and 2007 to recognize outstanding research efforts by qualified doctoral students.  The competitive fellowship program supported doctoral students conducting research in the Northern Forest region.  Fellowship recipients were in their first or second year of a Ph.D. degree program, and their dissertation research aligned with one of the NSRC research themes.  Eight scholars were supported through the Northern Forest Scholars program.
