Lini is an anthropologist and natural resource management specialist concerned with rural livelihoods and the environment. She currently leads an international research program on Pro-Poor Mitigation, which seeks to identify options for smallholder farmers in developing countries to improve their livelihoods while reducing their impacts on climate change. The research is one of four themes in the Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS, see http://www.ccafs.cgiar.org/) of the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

Prior to joining CCAFS, Lini worked with the Ford Foundation and Center for International Forestry Research. She is a fellow of the Samdhana Institute, a Research Fellow of the University of East Anglia (UEA) and Senior Associate with the Center for International Forestry Research. Lini is partial to Asia, especially Indonesian Borneo.
