ENSC 1: Introduction to Environmental Sciences

Assignment #1- Scientific experiments (this can be done in pairs).
 
Due Date: September 10, 2013
   
  Your assignment is to develop a hypothesis based on some observations you have made. You might assemble your data set by surveying other students about something, by looking at available historical data (e.g. the weather, Lake Champlain water levels, etc.) or by conducting your own survey of something on campus.
   
  You should include the following in your assignment:
   
   
  1. State your null hypothesis and your alternate hypothesis. (2 points)
     
  2. Identify the dependent and independent variables. (2 points)
     
  3. Briefly describe your methodology. (2 points)
     
  4. Show your collected data in tabular or graphical form. (2 points)
     
  5. Briefly discuss your findings, including a statement about accepting or rejecting your hypotheses. (2 points)
