Are Causeways Making Trouble for Fish?
View a WPTZ video on Rubenstein School Professor Ellen Marsden's genetics research

With eleven causeways dividing Lake Champlain into sections, University of Vermont biologists, including Rubenstein School Professor Ellen Marsden, are studying whether or not causeways form a physical barrier to populations of fish.
WPTZ Conservation Correspondent Bridget Butler, talks with Ellen Marsden from UVM about sampling fish from the open lake and different bodies of water cut off by causeways.
Ellen is using genetic sampling to analyze the fish to understand whether or not genetically distinct populations have been created due to the causeways on Lake Champlain.
