Sample Internships

The Office of Experiential Learning located in 336 Aiken assists students in exploring opportunities for summer, part-time, and permanent employment in natural resources fields. The Rubenstein School Internship Program awards academic credit for well-structured work experiences. Opportunities exist in Vermont, New England, throughout the United States, or even abroad. Internships may be paid or unpaid, part-time or full-time, and can be built into your class schedule during the academic year or arranged during the summer months.

Students in all majors are strongly encouraged to gain experience in many ways: through Work-Study, research, internship, part-time and summer employment, and campus leadership. Through these opportunities, students test career objectives, acquire hands-on skills and develop self-confidence and maturity. These experiences also enable students to establish networks of professional contacts who can assist in securing permanent employment after graduation.

It is never too early to start. Stop by the Dean's Office at 336 Aiken Center and make an appointment to meet with the Career Services Coordinator, Marie Vea-Fagnant, or call 656-3003.

Another great resource for general career development is the UVM Career Services Office located in L/L E Building. If Marie is not available there are several Career Counselors on hand to help you. Call 656-3450 to schedule an appointment.
