Andrea earned her B.A. in Gender and Ethnic Studies from the University of Vermont in 1993 and has been an experiential educator ever since. She worked at the Pine Ridge Adventure Center in Williston, VT from 1995 to 1999 and facilitated for years at both Petra Cliffs and the Bolton Adventure Center. Her other positions have included Leadership Program Director at Northlands Job Corps Center in Vergennes, VT and Director of Outdoor Pursuits at Simon's Rock College in Great Barrington, MA. Andrea volunteers as an EMT in Addison County, VT and has taught Wilderness Emergency Medicine for SOLO since 1999.
Hilary has been learning and
playing outdoors since she was put on plastic skis at age 2. Since
then, her extensive outdoor
experiences have led
her to believe that nothing is more important than hands-on, outdoor
education. She received her B.A. in Anthropology from UVM
in 2005 and is CPR- and Wilderness First Responder-certified. In addition to facilitating at the UVM ARC,
Hilary teaches skiing in the winter and runs a non-profit called
Vermont Outdoors Woman, which provides women with outdoor
educational experiences throughout the state.
Chia has taught and facilitated groups for twelve years in a variety of settings, including Outward Bound in Newry, ME and the Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. He is trained in ski patrol, wilderness medicine, high-angle rescue, and avalanche awareness, and has volunteered as an EMT for 15 years.
