Recycling & Waste Management

UVM Recycling and Solid Waste Home Page

The UVM Recycling and Waste Management program is part of the Physical Plant Department. We oversee the daily collection of waste, recycling and food scrap composting on campus from all University buildings and facilities, and we coordinate many other programs to reduce, reuse and recycle the University's waste stream.

Did You Know?

Last year, the University recycled 36% of its solid waste stream by diverting 900 tons of paper, bottles, cardboard, cans, scrap metal, wood, food scraps, e-waste and other items from landfill disposal.  Browse our website to learn about our program and recycling guidelines and help us reduce our waste and recycle more this year!
