Areas I'm working with Dr. Donna Toufexis to create an animal model of Post-Partum Depression to facilitate the development of medicines to treat this illness that affects 9 to 15% of all women following childbirth. I'm hoping my work will contribute to the long term betterment of society as a whole, and the improvement of the human condition.

Areas I am interested in the effects of emotional reactivity in preschool children who stutter. We are currently examining emotional variables pre and post Lidcombe Program treatment based on the Dual-Diathesis Stressor Model. I also work clinically as a speech-language pathologist with people who stutter using primarily the Lidcombe Program for preschool/school age populations and the Camperdown Program as well as a cognitive-behavioral approach for teens and adults.

I am also exploring some effects of experimenter on study outcomes and when people do and do not pay attention to social norm models.
