Department of Plant and Soil Science

Goals: 
1 To become better acquainted with the research of faculty and grad students in the department, on campus, and from elsewhere; to have the opportunity to visit with visiting faculty and researchers.
2. For graduate students to have the opportunity to present their own research.
3. To provide an opportunity for students to become better acquainted with, and have the opportunity for interaction with, industry professionals; secondarily, to foster increased communication between industry and others offcampus with the department members.
 
Grading:  Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory
 
Attendance:  Attendance at 70% of seminars is required for passing.  Other departmental requirements for graduate students concerning number of semesters this can be taken for credit, and presentations, may apply.
 
Assignments:  Two options are possible to obtain credit for attendance. For each seminar attended, submit to the instructor (either in hard copy or by email) prior to the following seminar either:
  1. a summary of the key points of the presentation, or
  2. at least one new fact you learned, and why you felt this important to remember or its significance to you (paragraph minimum).
