FREE BROCHURE AVAILABLE
ON PERENNIAL DISPLAY GARDENS

By Dr. Leonard Perry
Extension Professor

Burlington--A free brochure listing 27 perennial and herb display gardens open to the public is now available.

The brochure was produced by the Vermont Association of Professional Horticulturists and University of Vermont Extension and provides pointers for selecting perennials, as well as detailed listings of display gardens by region.  All gardens listed have at least 1,000 square feet or more of display beds that have been established for at least one growing season and winter and have plants labeled.

Each listing includes information on hours, location, and best months for viewing, as well as descriptions of varieties, special displays, and unusual features such as water gardens, catered picnics, or on-premises bed and breakfast accommodations. Listings also note if a catalog is available and perennial and/or herb plants may be purchased on-site.  For updates and changes throughout the year, visit http://pss.uvm.edu/ppp/vpdgli.html

Copies may be picked up at many local Chambers of Commerce.  Or send a self-addressed, stamped business size envelope to Vermont Association of Professional Horticulturists, P.O. Box 396, Jonesville, Vt. 05466 with your request.
