SAMBA directions

FTP directions for copying files to the new location of the PSS web site on ZOO:

First, downlaod and INSTALL both FTP Voyager and the registration program from www.uvm.edu/software.

Please read and follow the directions.

Next, launch FTP Voyager and From the top menu bar, click on 'FILE', then 'NEW', then 'SESSION'.

From the session window,

1-highlight the WWW in the left pane,
2- type in /.../uvm.edu/fs/uvmshare/pssweb and the,
3- enter the user ID and password for the directories you maintain on the PSS web site.

You should be able to see both the remote computer as the top section of the window and your local hard drive as the bottom section. If you only see the remote computer, click on 'VIEW' on the top menu bar and click on 'LOCAL DRIVES'. You can drag-and-drop files from your computer up to the server.

CAUTION ! ! !
You should rename any files that you are overwriting (updating)to maintain a copy of the original.
