University Distinguished Professor Program
Nomination Process
The nomination process for candidates for the title of University Distinguished Professor will be overseen by the Office of the Provost and the Faculty Senate. Faculty members should have a minimum of ten years of university employment before becoming eligible for nomination. Nominations are solicited from the Deans, Chairs and full-time faculty of our University.
Nominations are submitted electronically, by February 15, 2013, as a single PDF document,
c/o Denise.Marrero@uvm.edu, and will be forwarded to the Research, Scholarship, and Graduate Education Committee (RSGE).
Please include;
- the curriculum vitae for the nominee,
- a letter noting the qualifications of the individual for this distinguished title, and
- supporting letters from two external references. The external letters should address the candidate’s international reputation and do not have to be “arm’s length.”
Nominations will remain active for a period of three years. If they so choose, nominators may update their submission materials in years two and three. The Faculty Senate RSGE Committee will submit a list of finalists to the Provost.
