Message from Douglas Lantagne, Dean of Extension Services and Chair of the Search Committee
October 1, 2014
I am pleased to report that the search process for the Dean of the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources has progressed significantly since last spring when President Sullivan charged the Search Committee. The Search Committee, which was formed during the spring semester, met recently to work on the advertisement and position profile. We will be meeting in October for an initial review of candidates. I continue to be appreciative of the work that the Search Committee is doing on behalf of the Rubenstein School and the University. I also appreciate the faculty, staff and students that met with the consultants assisting us with the search. Your thoughtful feedback and perspectives will assisted us with the process of identifying an outstanding leader for the Rubenstein School.
The Search Committee completed the Leadership Profile for the next dean, which is attached and will shortly be available on the search web site. This document reflects the valuable feedback we heard from numerous sources. Advertisements for the position have been placed in numerous publications and on-line search services. In addition, information about applying for the position is available through the UVM Jobs web page. I encourage you to assist the Search Committee with identifying candidates my nominating individuals or sharing the leadership Profile with you professional contacts and connections. You may send information about potential candidates to email@example.com.
I anticipate that we will bring finalists to campus early spring semester for interviews. Once those dates are set, I will let you know.
Please feel free to contact me at Douglas.Lantagne@uvm.edu if you have any questions or if I can provide additional information about the search.
