Biography: Martha Minow
Jeremiah Smith Professor
Harvard Law School
Professor
Minow serves as the Jeremiah Smith Professor at Harvard Law School, and has
been a faculty member at Harvard Law School since 1981. Her current academic
appointments also include being a Lecturer in the Harvard Graduate School of
Education, and a Senior Fellow in the Harvard Society of Fellows. Professor
Minow is an internationally recognized expert in human rights and advocacy for
members of racial and religious minorities and for women, children, and persons
with disabilities. She has published 13 books and over 100 articles, book chapters,
and book reviews. Dr. Minow’s research agenda includes, privatization,
legacies of Brown v. Board of Education in law, politics, and international
human rights, and religion and civil rights. Her service activities include
being a member of the Board of Academic Advisors for Oxford University Press
and the Board of Syndics for Harvard University Press. Professor Minow received
a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, a Master of Education
degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Juris Doctor degree
from Yale Law School.
