Academic Ceremonies - Convocation
Sunday, August 29, 6:00 pm, Patrick Gymnasium
Guest Speaker: Firoozeh Dumas, Funny in Farsi: A Memoir of Growing Up Iranian in America”
Faculty are invited to attend the 2010 Convocation Ceremony.
The ceremony will begin with the procession of the platform party, led by James W. Burgmeier, University Marshal and President of the Faculty Senate, with the Pipes and Drums of Saint Andrew's Society of Vermont.
Please Note: The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. From August 22 through August 29, faculty and staff (with UVM ID) may pick up tickets at the Hoffman Information Desk on the third floor of the Dudley H. Davis Center.
Immediately following the Convocation Ceremony, the campus community is invited to attend the Class of 2014 Twilight Induction Ceremony on the University Green. The Taiko Drummers will set the pace along the parade route from Patrick Gym, down Main Street, to the Green. In the event of inclement weather, the Induction Ceremony will take place in Patrick Gymnasium.
Author signing: Ms. Dumas will be available to sign copies of her book following the Class of 2014 Twilight Induction Ceremony, August 29, 8:30 pm, in Henderson's Café on the the 3rd floor of the Davis Center.
